BACKGROUND
Jean has been boating over 35 years and sailing since
12 years old. Jean logged numerous trips in the 1970s
in the Chesapeake Bay sailing out of Annapolis, as
navigator and crew sailing the US Virgin Islands and
Puerto Rico, and as first mate on an 80′ Custom
Catamaran sailing from St Marteen to St. Barts, Saba,
St. Kitts and Nevis. Jean also has crewed on an 80′
gaff-rigged schooner out of Penobscot Bay, ME
Jean is a veteran of many sailboat deliveries in the
Gulf of Mexico of both cruising and offshore racing
designs.  With Jeff, Jean has extensively cruised the
Caribbean and Florida on their Skye 51 Polyphonic.
Jean is an Accredited Marine Surveyor, having
attended the Chapmans School of Seamanship, is a
member of the Society of Accredited Marine
Surveyors and ABYC Standards Certified. Jean is a
100GT Master and ASA 101 to Advanced Coastal
Navigation Instructor.  Jean is currently President of
Antigua Marine Survey & Consulting.
BACKGROUND
Jeff grew up sailing in the Florida Keys and the
Bahamas and learned to visually pick through reefs
before learning to drive a car. Jeff has been actively
sailing over 45 years skippering boats on overnight
cruises since the age of 15 and sailing in the 1970s
through the Bahamas using only compass and RDF.
Jeff bought his first boat, a Cal 25, at age 22,
upgraded to a C&C 38 five years later and
successfully raced/cruised the C&C for many years.
With Jean, Jeff has extensively cruised the
Caribbean and Florida on their current boat the Skye
51 Polyphonic. Jeff holds an Electrical Engineering
degree with specialty in Computer Design. He has
worked with almost all forms of electronic navigation
from B-52 Inertial Nav systems to modern integrated
ARPA radars. Jeff has been teaching sailing for over
30 years, is a 100GT Master and an ASA ACCI and
Radar Instructor. Jeff is currently Vice President of
Antigua Marine Survey & Consulting.

vessels ranging from sunfish to 80’ schooners. Jeff and Jean have extensively
cruised the Caribbean and Florida on their current boat a Skye 51. Jeff holds an
Electrical Engineering degree and has worked with almost all forms of electronic
navigation from B-52 Inertial Navigation systems to modern integrated ARPA
radars. Jean is an Accredited Marine Surveyor, a member of the Society of
Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS) and is ABYC Standards Certified. Both Jeff
and Jean are 100GT Masters and ASA Certified Sailing Instructors. Jeff and Jean
assist couples in realizing their sailing dreams.
