| Waypoint 9 Determining which boat is right for both of you. By now you should have good start on what you are looking for in a cruising boat. Now your goal is to learn much more about boat construction and design and to try as many different types of boats as possible. Two Can Sail will be offering, starting in 2011, a “Boat Shopping Workshop” learn about Yacht design and construction, plus an exclusive try before you buy sailing program, partnering with several boat manufactures, dealers and charter companies in the Tampa Bay area. This is a one week course where we tour boat building factories, look at boats in a yard through a surveyors “eye” with an Accredited Marine Surveyor (Jean), and spend the week daysailing on four different manufactures boats to compare designs, performance, features and comfort. Waypoint 10 Shopping, Survey and Purchase Take your time on the shopping, it should be a fun part of the process! Two Can Sail offers boat shopping services that are complimentary to what Brokers offer. By previewing boats for our clients we have saved them thousands of dollars in surveying and contracting costs by avoiding vessels that wouldn’t pass survey or meet their requirements. Once a target vessel is chosen, we help you work with a Broker to move through the offer process, and purchase process. Of course, we are specialists in surveying blue water sailboats thus Two Can Sail offers our surveying services at this step. |
